Film 

 

The 2014 Film Club is at The Venue at Daystar Center, 1550 S. State St., Chicago. Hosted by Stephen Reginald, the film club will feature seven Hitchcock classics, more details to come. Movies are screened at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday every month. Mr. Reginald introduces each film giving background information before screenings, with discussion afterward. He is a freelance writer/editor and popular instructor at Facets Film School in Chicago. He was also the original host of Meet Me at the Movies.

Tickets are $5 or $3 for Senior Citizens at the box office the night of the screening. A link to purchase tickets ahead of time will be up soon!

Chicago Solo Theatre will be at The Venue at Daystar Center for just one more Saturday this Spring!  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance at the link below or at the door.

DUO TANDEM, Guitarists Mark Anderson and Necati Emirzade

Don't miss this unique performance with Live Art by Zach Lehner!

This duo has been called "magical" by guitarist Marc Teicholz. Playing world and folk music, among other genres, they are know for their ability to communicate the core feeling in every piece they perform.   

Zach Lehner is a cartoonist and a designer. Often referred to as whimsical,  his work is characterized by bold brushstrokes and a stark aesthetic, with the hope of arresting the viewers attention and exhilarating their senses. Lehner is as much focused on telling a story as he is on technical skill, and tries to create work that will please and entertain.

BYOB, of course! Bring a bottle for whatever mood you're in, and enjoy a lovely evening.

May 15th & 17th - Vocalist Sabina with Visual Artist Jeremy Towns

Enjoy a musical conversation among Sabina and her band as they explore the possibilities of the American songbook and beyond, arranging on the fly from a solid base of top-notch musicianship, mutual trust and their own unique musical personas to create one-of-a-kind interpretations of songs you know and love. Join Sabina, bassist Marlene Rosenberg, saxophonist Melvin Butler, drummer Jeremy Cunningham, guitarist Scott Hesse (May 15) and pianist Stu Mindeman (May 17) as they present an evening of Sabina's original songs, jazz standards with a twist, and more.
